Living at Zionskirche

Right at the pulsing heart of Berlin this precious little flat is located in a surprisingly quiet, green yet very lively surrounding. It’s comfortably set up and at the one hand looks at the historic Zionskirche, and on the other hand side from the balcony it faces a wide, quiet and green yard.

Surrounding:

From the front windows through a gap between the trees on the street you directly look at the portal and tower of the church. The park around it just recently has been restored  and planted according to historic plans. Also the streets and sidewalks, just like at the close by Kastanienallee, have been reworked. As no cars may stop at the other side of the road, you can look freely at the green in front of the church. Cafés and restaurants are close by in a distance of about 50 meters to both sides, which is makes you feel the lively flair of the place without disturbing your calmness.

As the flat is located at mezzanine floor, people can’t look inside and still you have the feeling of being at the very pulse of this popular district. There are very few cars passing this small side street because of a one-way regulation which leads traffic to the rear side of the bock. The tram rails in front of the house hasn’t been used for years. Both lines now use the rails behind the block, so you won’t hear the cars and yet you have a service with close intervals at a distance of only 100 meters. The same goes for the active nature of Kastanienallee with it’s many boutiques and cafés.

Right next to the block there is another park, the Weinbergspark with it’s beautifully reworked playground. From here, you walk down the hillside of Prenzlauer Berg to the lower district of Mitte, which is not as suitable for living but even more versatile in respect to cultural activities. Here you’ll find Hackescher Markt and Scheunenviertel at a walking distance from your home. Walking the other way from Zionskirchplatz, in a similar distance you will find interesting locations like Mauerpark, Prater, Kulturbrauerei or Pfefferberg.
